The rise of sports casino gambling has gained popularity all over Africa. Kenya is one of those countries that has earned the highest revenues for gambling. While table games and slot machines are widespread, sports betting in Kenya is easily the most popular form of gambling.

In Kenya, nearly 30 licensed sportsbooks operate in the country, with a combined revenue estimated to be $2 billion. Additionally, more casino providers have set up shop to get a share of the ever-increasing number of sports gamblers.

The fast growth of the sports betting industry in Kenya is due to the active participation of millennials.A study by GeoPoll found 57 percent of Kenyans above 18 years old have participated in gambling or betting in the past. Furthermore, 83 percent placed bets on football games. They spend an average of Sh5,000 or about $50 every month on sports betting.

Everything changed when the pandemic began. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a novel disease that has not been seen in humans before. There is limited information regarding thiscondition, but it is known to be highly contagious. Since the first case, the virus has spread around the world and has affected over 210 countries.

The widespread of the virus emitted fear, worry, and concern among the population. This led to countries imposing tight restrictions such as social distancing and lockdowns in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus. Unfortunately, it also disturbed the social, political, religious, economic, and financial structures around the world.

Coronavirus has also affected sports. Major sports events around the world have been rescheduled or canceled due to the pandemic. In turn, it has also put a stop on sports betting. However, it shouldn’t mean the end of sports bettors’ careers. If you’re a sports bettor, this infographic by Chezacash will give you a few tips to help you adjust during these uncertain times.
